Central American and Caribbean Games

The Central American and Caribbean Games are the oldest continuing regional games. The first Central American & Caribbean Games were held in 1926 in Mexico.

The Central American and Caribbean Games are organised by CACSO (in English). The Organización Deportiva Centroamericana y del Caribe (ODECABE) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).


In order to participate, all athletes must entered by their National Olympic Committee. There are 31 countries invited by CACSO to participate in the Central American and Caribbean Games.

The latest edition of the Central American and Caribbean Games were held in 2006 in Bogotá (COL) where over 7000 athletes in 37 sports competed, amongst these, both Jumping and Dressage featured. The next edition is expected to be held in 2010 in Puerto Rico.

Equestrian sports first made an appearance at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1935. All Equestrian sports are conducted according to FEI Rules.
