Introduction

The FEI is committed to developing equestrian sport world-wide and the Development Department is at the disposal of all NFs to guide and assist the progress of equestrian sport, with the aim of Olympic participation for your NF.

 

Development is ABOVE ALL:

  • Creation of a basic structure for developing National Federations
  • Creation of a universal structure for coaching by using competition oriented interactive adult education communications techniques.

Development is ALSO:

  • Technical courses for riders in all disciplines
  • Basic courses for judges, course designers, veterinarians, stewards
  • Technical assistance
  • Competition: FEI World Jumping and Dressage Challenge

FEI Development – key dates:

  • 1997: Creation of a Development Fund and appointment of a Development Officer
  • 1999: Review of the National Federations affiliation process
  • 2001: First meeting on Development in Riga (LAT). Creation of an FEI Development Office
  • 2003: New Strategy and establishment of a Development Working Group

Creation of an FEI System of Education for Coaches with a system of Certification
(FEI Coaching System)

  • 2004: Creation of a Basic Structure for Developing NFs to help them organise their sport
  • 2006: Creation of a permanent FEI Development Department
