I have not read this book, but I lived it as a baby. I know the stories
When it was safer my mother and father put me in a dresser drawer and we flew to the states. Landed in Oakland.
My father worked at Mare Island and we lived in Napa.

Slow in the beginning. Picked up speed w/ the days leading up to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Story slowed down in post war days. A big bunch of people to keep track of
