I listen to all kinds of things but at the moment whatever is on my mp3. I use my mp3 for bus rides,walk to the store, chores. I have rock,pop/country on my mp3.
then International music Eurovision music, Croatian(part Croatian),Italian(learned in last year of high school last year)

But while I am on the computer right now i'm just addicted to Croatian.

The songs are so fun and silly it makes even doing dishes enjoyable. Not to mention livening up long car rides...

My children also recently discovered the joy of Rossini. Today we listened to the William Tell Overture and overture to The Barber of Seville repeatedly. My preschooler likes to recognize and point out the storm portion of William Tell. During The Barber of Seville overture she likes to sing, "Yes, you're next. You're so next." a la Bugs Bunny in Rabbit of Seville. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_o...) My 4th grade son enjoys the Lone Ranger portion of William Tell the best, even though he has no idea who the Lone Ranger is.

After reading; "The Cello Suites" by Eric Siblin I have been listening to a double CD of the complete set of Cello Suites by Bach. It is so relaxing and beautiful, it has come close to being my favourite classical composition.

Great choice, Rick. Bach's 'Cello Suite No. 1 in G minor, Mov. 1' is divine sounding!

I've been listening to some of W.A. Mozart's less well-known compositions. I've discovered three lovely pieces, including 'Adagio and Rondo in C minor, K. 617' (a rare piece featuring the beautifully eerie, yet very delicate- sounding glass armonica). 'Adagio for Two Clarinets & Three Basset Horns, K.411'... Very relaxing with the soothing, sleepy sound of the clarinet. Delightfully fun and quirky; a typical Mozart composition! Finally, and I think best of all is 'Masonic Funeral Music in C minor, K.477' -so sad, solemn and passionate! I think it has become my favourite piece by Mozart.

Aaah, some lovely music there Max, well posted, I'm just checking them out now! I also love Mozart's 'Requiem' :)

As you probably could have guessed I'm not the biggest fan of opera (you know, the kind where some big busted lady with a plastic knife sticking in her throat can't stop screaming for more than 10 minutes that she has a hard time dying and finally getting off the stage - all in Italian or German with an English accent (or the other way around)and when you think she's finally done you have to find out you're wrong and she starts dying all over again - know the kind?! --- so whenever I'm thinking of a beautiful aria, funny enough this one's comes to mind:

Just been listening to the beastie Boys new album Hot Sauce Committee part 2 and it is the bomb. If you like you hip-hop old school with great synth sounds and big beats mixed with old school 808 beats then this is for you. A great blend of old school mixed with the new makes this a fun album to listen to made all the better with the bass maxed out.

I am listening to SHOSTAKOVICH: Symphony No. 7, 'Leningrad' played by the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra on rhapsody.

The Russian Philharmonic Orchestra is firmly rooted in Russia’s rich musical traditions, and has achieved an impressive and outstanding musical quality by drawing its musicians from the highest ranks of Russia’s most famous orchestras such as the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra and the State Symphony Orchestra. The Russian Philharmonic Orchestra was originally formed as a recording ensemble and has gone on to receive high acclaim for its concert performances. In addition to regular recordings for leading international companies, the orchestra has undertaken tours to Turkey, Austria, Germany, China, Taiwan, Finland and elsewhere. Dmitry Yablonsky was appointed Music Advisor to the orchestra in 2003. In 2006 the orchestra won a Gramophone Award for their recording of Shostakovich on Deutsche Grammophon.

Ohhh I miss George Harrison. This was another great performance worth listening to over and over and over.

Me too.......so under-appreciated when the Beatles first came on the scene.
I also have another of his great CDs..........All Things Must Pass, his first solo attempt after the breakup.

They were all great musicians weren't they? So much talent, together and individually. My sister and I went to see Ringo Starr in a summer concert on the Seattle waterfront. His back-up band was great and he was a load of fun!!

The thread is for what you are listening to when you post. For example when I posted 37 I was listening to the mixes and I posted a link to them so other folks could listen.

In 38, I posted what I was listening to then and a youtube link to it.

So if you are for example listening to a particular country western singer. Then post the song and the singer and give us a link from youtube to the song itself so that we can listen along.
