What we've read so far in 2013...
*Please only add books that you HAVE read in 2013*
For the books you've read in 2012, visit the 2012 list!
Just keep voting for books as you read them. Which book will we read the most this year? And for all you lucky people who read more than 100 books in a year, this should become your 100 favourite reads in 2013 list. Delete your least faves as you go past 100.
FYI- This is the 4th year for this list. Last year's list generated almost 5,000 books with 690 voters. The Hunger Games was (once again) the most read at 241 votes followed (also again) by Catching Fire & Mockingjay. Divergent and City of Bones made our top 5. Cheers

Hey Buggy, can you believe I haven't read The Hunger Games yet? :O I've had it in my currently-reading bookshelf for the whole year and, shame on me, it's going to stay there for a while longer. Do you think I should discuss this 'avoidance issue' with my therapist? LOL
Dina You are so funny. I think we had this same conversation a year ago today. Just take a breathe, close your eyes (no wait that won't work) and do it.
I figured I might as well add it as the #1 book as thats where it always ends up.
Hey do you have librian status? I can't figure out how to "link" the top 5 from last year titles or back to the 2012 list from the blurb.

Yup, we did have the same conversation a year ago. I hope we won't have it again a year from now. ;)
Sorry, I don't have librarian status. That's too 'complicated' for me, LOL.

Someone just added 50+ books to the list. All of them read in 2012, of course.
I'm not sure if I should remove them.

Yeah I noticed that Rh3a, someone manages to do it every year for some reason. I was just going to let it slide because in a couple of months it won't matter.
I wanted to thank you for linking the books in the blurb and removing the ones I added for real ones that have been read this year. Could you also link back "last years list" in the blurb to the 2012 link.

Thanks for the invite again Buggy! I love this list...I don't love the people that can't follow directions so much though, haha.
LMAO I just don't know what the problem is?? Oh well it all works out in the end. Glad to see you back on the list again and have a super New Year!
Lol me either. Are these people so desperate to be rebels in some kind of way that these are the rules they choose to break? That's one of my working theories anyway, haha. Thanks, and thank you for creating it again! Happy New Year to you too!
Gah, why can't people follow simple rules?!? Send them to the naughty corner, Buggy! :P
And Happy New Year to all, ladies (and gentlemen?) 2013 has already arrived here and I can't wait to start populating my list.

Yeah I wish there was a Ufail button.
Happy New Year to you Dina, I still have several hours yet to go yet here, I just put the champagne outside to chill

I'm a high school teacher, and over the years I have had to accept that people just won't follow the simplest of rules. *sigh*

OK, ladies, that's all I could do. Ten books left; mostly genuine votes... Unfortunately I can only remove books, not votes.
I don't think they're all rebels, though. I'm a strong believer in human stupidity; it never fails...

Thanks Buggy for making a new list!
And thanks Rhea for removing all the 2012 read books...
I've set myself a target of 52 books for this year but I thoroughly hope I find some more time to get more than that read.
Happy New Book Reading Year :)

Thanks for the invite, Buggy! I wonder how I will remember to post on this list when I finish a book. Any suggestions?

I find it is the first thing I think of to do - finished book, go online, post the book on my list(s!), and pick the new book to read. Once you get into the habit of this, it becomes second nature.
BTW - Thanks for putting the list up again Buggy! I got my 'What Women Born in the 70s have read so far this year' list up too. I'm hoping your earlier 'dilemma' steers clear of my list though...

Hey guys, Glad to see everyone here and Happy New Year! My head is hurting a wee bit today :)
@ Jennifer I would add books to the list when you mark them as read of course I don't always remeber to do this and usually add a bunch alltogether whenever I get around to it... That probably wasn't very helpful was it? LOL

Yup Dina it was the champagne and possibly the wine and I do remember some hot apple cider at some point too. Agh, and the Bailys!
New Year's Eve reminded me why I had given up alcohol and why I am about to give up sugar. I didn't drink THAT much [an attempt to clear the liquor cabinet] but I still got the hangover from the sugar the next day damn it...[must be getting old] ;-D
Ah yes the sugar hangover, I manage a couple of those a week due to my addiction to all things candy. I always forget about the sugar in alcohol
Isn't there a book called The Sugar Hangover? I should probably read it, as I seem to have one daily...course I keep up that "hair of the dog" remedy trying to avoid it ;)
LOL. I currently have 'The Mucous Effect' (probably a book title too) from the giving up of sugar and dairy and the body trying to cleanse itself. It's almost enough to go back to having 'The Sugar Hangover' again, but I'm going to try and persevere...for a bit longer...
Evidently I need to change my morals and become one of these people who refuses to get a job... I just don't have enough time to read as much as I want :(
I know the feeling Bonnie. I'm also super envious of those fast readers who can read a book in a day or a few hours.
Hi everyone,
I have created a new group called Goodreads All Sorts and I'd love for people to join it or just even just give it a look. It's a group that discusses anything and everything. There will be monthly group reads, movies, and music. There is a folder for everything you could think of. I'd really like if people could spread the word because I'd love for the group to be a success. Here is the link to the group:

Thanks very much,
Jack :-)

I know it's only March, but I'm kind of surprised Hunger Games isn't number one yet.
Oh well. Nothing I've read is in the top 100, as usually. :P Though I might read Beautiful Creatures before the year is up.

Hey Allison, its kinda fun not having Hunger Games as number 1. I'm really enjoying the different selection of books this year. Lots of great recommendations
Thanks for the recommendation, Jenna. There's no book blurb listed...will you share what it's about?
Hi everyone! If you fit into this category: Women born in the 90's, I would love for you to come vote on my list! I enjoy comparing it to this list, its fun to see what's trending as a whole and in my age group.

It could definitely use some more voters so feel free to pass the link on to friends, thanks!

.....*Sigh* Advertising and self/"friend" promotion.
Which of course makes me not want to go near the book.

Hi Buggy,
Let me start by saying I love this list. I really like to see how popular reads change over the course of the year. With that being said, would you mind if I listed a top 5 every month here in the comments on your 2014 list. My memory is terrible and I'd really like to keep track of how the reads evolve over the year.

Hi Shannon,
I Have no problems with you listing a top 5 in the comments every month. I also find it interesting how popular reads change. For about 3 years this list was all about The Hunger Games so it was really nice to see a change this year

Great! I just didn't want to annoy every one. I'm very glad The Hunger Games have finally stepped down. And the list seems to have changed a lot this year. Thanks for starting it every year. Happy reading!
I am very glad on being a part of Goodreads and hope to study romentic and thought provoking books. Happy reading.
