In 2007, the records were unearthed and restored with the help of EMI Classics technicians. These recordings, released in partnership with the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the Opéra National de Paris, and the Association pour le Rayonnement de l'Opéra de Paris, feature such performances as Enrico Caruso in Bohème, Rigoletto, and Lucia; Nellie Melba singing Mozart's Figaro; Reynaldo Hahn singing his own composition and another by Chabrier; Pol Plançon as Méphistophélès; and Adelina Patti in Don Giovanni. The set also includes instrumental soloists such as Fritz Kreisler, Raoul Pugno, Jan Kubelik, and Ignacy Paderewski

Lucia di Lammermoor by
Gaetano Donizetti(
Recording
)
1 edition published in 1993 in Italian and held by 35 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This is Maria Callas's only broadcast from the stage of the Met. Hearing "La Divina" in an actual performance is a unique thrill, and Lucia is a huge part of the palpable Callas mystique. Donizetti's bloody tale of the Scottish lass torn from her true love and forced into an arranged marriage, only to go mad and murder her bridegroom on their wedding night, was the perfect vehicle for Callas's wizardry. Her haunting voice simply becomes Lucia's--every facet of emotion so pronounced that we cannot escape her spell
