SCHOENBERG : Moses und Aron by Arnold Schoenberg( )

11 editions published between 1954 and 2017 in German and Undetermined and held by 276 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Schoenberg's masterpiece in the twelve-tone system he developed was his unfinished opera, a vastly complex work based on a single tone row that it remained a fragment may be essential to its spiritual message, for while Schoenberg never stated it explicitly, it would seem that he left this most ambitious project of his mature style incomplete on purpose
Gurre-Lieder by Arnold Schönberg( Recording )

10 editions published between 1960 and 1991 in German and No Linguistic content and held by 270 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Recorded May 1992 in the Grosser Saal, Musikverein, Wien
Die Landstreicher = The vagabonds by Carl Michael Ziehrer( )

in German and held by 270 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

In the field of entertainment music, Ziehrers name was soon a quality brand in Vienna, especially as Carl Haslinger, Johann Strauss Jr.s publisher, provided him with valuable assistance. Unlike Strauss, Ziehrer came from the piano, so he was not a standing leading violinist, but availed himself of a baton. He wrote countless orchestral compositions, above all waltzes, but also marches and polkas, including many that would be termed hits today, as well as more than twenty stage works. Most of these operettas are almost forgotten today, and merely Die Landstreicher (1899) comes to mind. It is a merry and graceful work in a popular tone and with a slightly sentimental mood. This recording is another jewel for the Capriccio Operetta Edition who takes care of these unjustly forgotten composers and pieces

A brilliant ensemble cast bring Strauss's beloved operetta to life, with new English dialogue by playwright Douglas Carter Beane and lyrics by Jeremy Sams (who also directed this production, first seen on New Year's Eve 2013). Christopher Maltman and Susanna Phillips are Eisenstein and Rosalinde, the married couple at the center of this lighthearted tale of love, revenge, and mistaken identities. Paulo Szot sings Falke, Eisenstein's friend, who sets the plot in motion. Anthony Roth Costanzo is Prince Orlofsky, Jane Archibald sings Adele, and Broadway star Danny Burstein is Frosch, the jailer.
